The Chicago ARML Teams
The 2011-2012 tryouts for the Chicago Area All-Star Math Team (aka the “ARML Team”) will be held at Evanston Township High School on Thursday, January 26, from 4pm until about 9pm.
Schools bringing five or more students are asked to bring coaches (or willing parents) to help proctor and grade the tryouts, ideally one per about every ten kids. But if you can’t bring a coach, send your students anyway!
That’s right, the 2011 Tryouts will be from 4pm-10pm on January 27 at Evanston Township High School, as usual. There will be a one hour break for dinner around 6pm–you’re on your own for that.
Tryouts for the 2010 Chicago ARML Teams will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010, from 4 to 10pm (with a break for dinner), at Evanston Township High School.
Here they are. The last page of the tryouts gives the number of students answering each question correctly.

Chicago A tied for 7th place nationally at the 2008 ARML Competition.
Tryouts for the 2008 teams were well-attended, despite the winter weather. Congratulations to those students selected tonight!
Also, thank you to Rich Rukin, who is retiring as the author of the tryouts after 28 years (a perfect number of years).

The Chicago ARML Teams web site has undergone a move to WordPress to allow for easier site management, better archiving of past news, and greater flexibility. Hopefully, we will have discussion forums working soon as well.
